Biography of Maria Weed

Maria Weed, born in New Jersey is a graduate of the Traphagen School of Fashion Design and Illustration.  She also studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.  She worked for Parade Magazine as a layout artist and International Playtex as an Art Designer.

Retiring and residing in Florida, she began to paint again, mostly commissioned work.  Now Maria is a member and student of the Dunedin Fine Arts School.   She has participated in many art shows, where she has sold her work.  Now working under instructor Robert Sutherland of the Dunedin Fine Art School; and the Spin D Arte group, she participates in many art shows.  Maria also participates in the Clearwater Free Clinic art auction every year and other art shows with the Tarpon Springs Art Association. .

Maria loves painting, as she believes it is a visual expression of her emotions.  Florida and its tropical lush surroundings and amazing sunsets have become a great inspiration and shows in Maria's interpretation of Costal Tropical style.  It is her hope to touch someone with the visual expression of wonderful colors that please the eye. You can visit her work at Mariaweedsart.com.  Thank you for your interest!
